UPDATE: NEW ASSURANCE MODEL
AWS is introducing a new assurance model in 2022. From 1 October 2021, sites interested in pursuing AWS certification are required to engage with a new mission-driven CAB. More information is available on the AWS International website.
AWS Accredited Service Providers and AWS Credentialed Professionals offer expert water stewardship advice and services.
AWS Accredited Service Providers are organisations that demonstrate expertise in water stewardship and provide relevant water stewardship services. AWS Credentialed Professionals are qualified individual practitioners of water stewardship. The services they provide include conformity assessment, training and consulting.
To become certified, we recommend that sites engage an AWS Credentialed Professional or AWS Accredited Service Provider. Audit and certification services may only be provided by an AWS Accredited Conformity Assessment Body (CAB).
Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) are regional or multinational organisations providing ISO and other ISEAL member certification schemes. CABs are independently accredited to relevant ISO requirements and have skilled auditors with knowledge of water stewardship and experience of auditing other social and environmental standards.
Professional trainers have significant expertise and experience in the implementation and application of the AWS Standard systems. They may also specialise in other social and environmental certification audits and systems.
Consultants provide expert advise on sustainability and water-related matters. They are specialists in environmental management systems, corporate social responsibility, sustainability programs, sustainability disclosure, and social and environmental standards systems.
